In connection with the UGC-CPE project Developing Micro-history: Methodology and
Practice, the Post-graduate & Research Department of History is
organizing a three-day workshop on 8th, 9th and 10thFebruary
2012. This workshop is a follow up of the programmes and
workshops organized by the Department earlier, for launching the project and to
discuss the methodological and theoretical issues involved in it. On the basis
of such activities, the Department has prepared a list of themes to be worked
out and a team of project participants is constituted. The teams have initiated
the project work and have conducted preliminary surveys and fieldwork.
The present workshop is intended to review the work
already done and to discuss about the future course of action to be followed. It
is aimed at providing theoretical and methodological clarity on micro-historical
research and to equip the project participants with necessary skills to proceed
