  1. The Department organized an Extension Lecture of Dr. Srijith. K (Dept of History, Kolkota) on the topic "History and Historiography in Modern India" on 2 November 2016.
  2. In the International History Lecture Series I - Source of History, Prof. Istvan Perczel, (Dept. of Medieval Studies, Central European University, Budapest) delivered a talk on "Garshuni (Karson) Malayalam: A Forgotten Script and an unknown Literature" on 03-08-2016.
  3. The Department conducted a Crash course for the students appearing for UGC NET/JRF from 24-11-2016 to 23-12-2016

Two days ICHR-sponsored National Seminar on Discernible Trends in the Historiography of Pre-Modern Kerala organized by M.G.S. History Foundation in cooperation with Department of History, Farook college on 14 and 15, March, 2016. Prof. Scaria Zacharia inaugurated the Seminar. Principal, Prof. E.P. VIIIth volume of history farook by Dr. C.A.Anaz "Pirates, Corsairs, Jungle Mappilas and Fanatics: Representations of Mappila Muslims in Colonial Discourse" was released on 17 September 2014 by Dr. Madhav Gadgil.

Dr. K.M. Sheeba delivered the Shameer memorial lecture and Prof. K.N. Ganesh distributed the awards. First Prize was awarded to Suvarna N.T (K.K.T.M. Govt. College, Pullut), second prize to Shibli. Dr. T. Muhammedali coordinated the IQAC National Seminar (sponsored by the UGC) on Maintenance of Quality in Higher Education: Prospects and Problems on 7-8 March 2012.

Dr. Manmathan M.R attended the University Level Camp for selecting research scholars for the Acquire Scholarship Programme of the Government of Kerala, at Calicut University held on 3-4 February 2012.
